Butterfly

I tried figuring out the species by using http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/, but I wasn't able to (my fault, not the site's). I don't feel too bad though, as the site states that there has been verified sitings of 413 different butterfly and moth species in Worcester County alone. This is one of the first shots I took using my newly-acquired (used) teleconverter. It works great optically and electronically. I am blessed to own a 70-200mm f/2.8, so autofocus works splendidly, though it did have some difficulty in a few challenging situations (moving train headlights, waving plants). With the 2X teleconverter you lose two stops of light, so the widest aperture available with the 70-200 was f/5.6, but that is not really much of a limitation in the daytime. Canon 5D MarkII, EF 70-200 @200mm, Extender 2X mkII. f/9, 1/640s, ISO 400.
